For our Bonus Post today, it will be a review on Stash Licorice Spice Herbal Tea.
I’ve written many posts about tea on this blog so far, and I don’t see myself stopping with that anytime soon. This morning I wanted to enjoy something a bit different than my usual fare, as I was getting the kids ready for school. Lets just say, my tea didn’t end up my tea, and the kids drank it all on me. They love the smell of it, and it makes them all come running. They drink it up right quick too! I don’t mind, as it has many beneficial health properties, and doesn’t have any caffeine in it. Means I have to make another mug for myself, but that isn’t such a bad thing.

My Thoughts
This is a wonderful tea to steep. It is quick to steep, ready for drinking in no time. It also is very fragrant, and often my kids come running even before I am done taking out the bag. The scent drifts upstairs that fast!
I love that it is caffeine free, as it makes it an easy choice to share with all my little ones. I serve it hot or cold, with a bit of honey, and if enjoying it at night by myself, I drink it plain.
It has a nice amber colour, which darkens the longer you steep it for. This tea works well without creamer, and is sweet enough on its own that sugar isn’t needed. My kids don’t like the bitter feeling on their tongue, so I naturally sweeten it with honey, sugar cane or a wee bit of brown sugar.
This tea is wonderful warm, but makes a great iced tea as well. I just add a 1/4 of a lemon to it, and a wee bit of natural sweetener. It is a great calming drink for a long drive.
Repurchase?
Yes, I will, and have. I always keep a stash of this around, and like to put it in little tea packs I make people for various holidays/occasions. My whole family and extended family like black licorice, so this is something I can serve any time, and they love it. It is enjoyable any time of the year, which I really like. I often drink this when I am having migraine issues, so not to hamper the hurt further with caffeine.
The price point is also great, I find that Walmart is the best place to find this tea. It is always cheaper, and they often have 2 for $5 or $1 off sales for the Stash Tea brand.
Added Note – throw one of these in your heat vent, if you have the ones with the fabric/paper traps. As the heat kicks on, the scent will start to drift around the house. So much better than a Glade Plugin.
