I was cleaning stuff out, and magically found 2 boxes of red hair dye. I don’t often dye my hair, but in past years, it has changed from my usual golden blonde colour, to this weird half blonde/half copper muddled mess. It started when I was having all my children, and just hasn’t stopped. I don’t mind the copper, I just wish it was either blonde or copper, not half ‘n half.
So since I was going to be putting my hair in dreads soon anyway(been making them for a bit now, and they are almost all done), I decided to use a box of dye, as not to waste it. One of the colours of the hair for the dreads if very similar to the shade I dyed it. It’ll blend nicely when I install them.
This was the kit I did, not as red as I usually go, I normally get like semi permanent colour for halloween costumes and such. When I do get the semi permanent, I usually get it in a mousse style, so was happy to find a kit that was permanent, but was a mousse too. It really was only one extra step, as the semi normally has an aerosol can, and this permanent one you had to mix the colour into the mousse container.
Once I chopped the 2 feet of hair off, it was like 10 minutes to colour. So nice and easy. I was wearing a towel to protect my neck and back, but the clip popped off. I was worried it would be hard to get all my mess off, but it came off in the same amount of time it took me for my hair to run clear in the shower.
I have always been good with Garnier products, so it was a safe bet I wasn’t going to react badly on my scalp with this one. I had no burning at all, and only slight nose irritation.
The dye didn’t go as red as it should have, especially since my hair was lighter than the kit required. I haven’t got an end results photo for you guys yet, I was too busy this weekend to get myself all prepped for that, so I will just have to update the post.
I more or less just wanted to let you know about the crazy long hair to short hair, spur of the moment decision. Now you wont be confused when you see me with 2 feet less, and all the red and crazy curls. Shorter my hair is, the curlier it gets.
Either I just killed a clown and used its blood to dye my hair, or I am going to try to take over the Joker’s job. Who wants to see me do a Red Joker?
