Brokedown Vanity - Sample Source - Review - Uncle Bens

Uncle Ben’s – Bristro Express Basmati Rice

Claims:

-Simple
-Easy To Make
-Quick
-Aromatic

I used this rice to make alongside my lunch. I normally like to make something really yummy but quick. I had some left over sausage and veggies, which I reheated and cooked while this was in the microwave. It cooks so fast. I put it in my fajitas, then my saute, and threw on a little salsa. It was the perfect filling meal, made in 7 minutes.

Brokedown Vanity - Sample Source - Review - Food

I liked that is was so easy, just tear the easy open strip, open up, cook and done. No need to dirty up another dish. The rice itself sort of stinks when you take it out of the microwave, but I find that is the way with most basmati rice.

This arrived in my Sample Source box, as a Full Sized Product.

Would I purchase this product?

No, I don’t think so. While the product was good, I don’t eat this type of rice often. There are also other express styled basmati rise out there that I like more than this one.

Brokedown Vanity - Sample Source - Review - Cetaphil - Wipe

Cetaphil – Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths

Claims:

These are super soft and gentle, and have the same sort of formula as the facial cleanser, so it’s a soap-free formula. My eyes don’t tear up nor sting. There is no fragrance in these, which is another selling point for me.

I find they have a great amount of moisture, I never find a random dry patch on the wipes. These however do not work well with long lasting or waterproof makeup formulas. It just does not clean it up. I would suggest using these on no makeup, or light makeup days.

This arrived in my Sample Source box, as a one cloth sample.

Would I purchase this product?

No, I wouldn’t. I am not really a user of wipes for my makeup, unless it is swatches. This product really doesn’t suit my needs.

Brokedown Vanity - Sample Source - Review - Batiste

Batiste – Original Mini Dry Shampoo

Claims:

-Quick Fix Product
-Adds Volume & Texture
-Does Not require Water, so an easy product to use

I’ve only started using dry shampoos in the last few years,. This one works well, and it is super easy to apply. I find I don’t need to brush it out as much, it doesn’t cause a huge buildup when you are spraying your roots. It does spray white, but it brushes out well. I put it on before I got to bed, after brushing it and massaging it in. The next morning my hair is great, and I have less flyaways around my face.

I’ve even started using this after swimming, on the nights the kids go with my, as I always have less time to fully do a shower, when I have 3 little ones running about, and I am always the last one into the shower too.

I love that they have the mini versions, as you can take them on trips easily, to the gym. Can throw it into your purse, or have in an emergency bag in your vehicle.

This arrived in my Sample Source box, as a travel size can.

Would I purchase this product?

Yes, I’d be willing to try it again, but maybe a different version. They have various kinds, and always seem to have special edition scents as well.

Brokedown Vanity - Sample Source - Review - OxiClean

OxiClean – Laundry Pre-Treat Stain Remover

Claims:

-Powerful Stain Fighting components
-Breaks Down and Remove Stains the first time

I’ve only had the chance to use this on grass stains, as the kids really haven’t mucked about much more than that. It worked great, and got them out, once in the wash. I just spray it on and use a toothbrush to scrub the stain, then let it set for 10 minutes. I’ve always enjoyed OxiClean products, and this is just another great one in their line of many.

This arrived in my Sample Source box, as a coupon covering the full cost of the item.

Would I purchase this product?

Yes, it works really well. I will have to test it out on my husband’s mechanical stains at some point(he makes a huge mess of himself a few times a year). If it can work for that, it will become a staple.

Brokedown Vanity - Sample Source - Review - Bona

Bona – Hardwood Floor Cleaner

Claims:

-GreenGuard Approved, safe for family and home
-cleans by gently and effectively removing dust, dirt and grime

The house we live in was passed on through generations of my partner’s family. The house was built in 1852, and we decided to leave 3 of the floors with the original wood flooring. With this kid safe, pet safe formula, I knew I didn’t have to worry about the dog or cats licking things off the floor, nor worry about the product touching my kids, when they help me clean.

I do clean my hardwood floors by hand, the old fashioned way, and I have to say this product works just as well that way as the more modern spray mop. It doesn’t leave a filmy residue and the scent is not outstandingly strong. It really makes the floors look amazing. They have such a nice shine after they are cleaned.

This arrived in my Sample Source box, as a 0.059l/2 fl oz. sample.

Would I purchase this product?

Maybe, though I currently have a lot of other products to go through. This did work really nicely with the way I do my floors. Not all products hold up well to hand use, over actual mops.
