For our Post today, it will be a review on Ciate Limited Edition Starstruck Eyeliner & Stamp.
I received this as a birthday gift from my bestie. She had given me a makeup bag with a bunch of different items in it, and this was nestled in the bottom. This was the first Ciate item I eve owned, and while you have now seen others on the blog already, that would be because I enjoyed this one so much, I thought I’d try out more. I just hadn’t gotten around to actually reviewing it yet, but here we finally are.

My Thoughts
I was excited when I saw this in my little makeup bag gift. I had just read that week of another Ciate product, and I had thought the company really innovative for making it. I remember looking more into the products they had, and wondered where I could grab some in Canada.
At first I didn’t realize it had the stamp, as I opened my gift at like 2am, after partying with my Bestie’s mom, as it was her birthday. The next day I remember looking more closely at it at home, as was struck by the cute little star stamp that was included. Such a small thing, but a really fun addition to a eyeliner product. I know there have been other similar things in the past years, but I had never had one, so I was happy non the less.
The stamp works great, I have yet to have a star appear less than a star. It is a really thick stamp, so you don’t have to worry about getting edgings, like with typical art stamps.
I have also never used a felt tip eyeliner, before this one. I did own some, and had swatched them, but hadn’t actively used them on my eyes. This is part due to the way I choose to wear eyeliner.
My eyes are super huge, so I actually try to make them look smaller. I rarely wear eyeliner above my lashline. Since this isn’t a waterproof product, I knew it wouldn’t work for how I typically do my eyeliner, so I decided to use it to make a very slight wing, extending out my normal lining, just in the corners from both top and bottom lashlines. It worked great for this. I enjoyed the look.
I find it works better on the upper than the lower lashline, as my eyes water too much(even when not wearing makeup, they just do their own thing, which apparently is keeping my eyeballs super hydrated).
It is not a matte liner, which I like. I have had enough matte liners in my life, it was nice to have something different.
As you can see in the swatches above, you can make it really fine, or really big. Due to me being older(35 years now), I do have fine lines, so trying to get it on thickly in a first go does make the product come out too quickly, which then bleeds into all my little lines. I find it easier to just fine line and fill.
Repurchase?
Maybe. I like the product just fine, I think I would prefer a waterproof version. I also now want to explore liquid eyeliner more, so I could see me getting something different first. This was also a limited edition item, so I might not be able to find it so easily in the future. I can see myself trying to salvage the stamp tip. Clean it somehow and continue to use it with other products. It really is a very great stamp, since it is so thick.
I really can’t wait to use this for lipart, or just faceart, or arm doodles. The actual liner end can get super precise, just like it claims, so I was having just as much fun drawing on myself, as using it as a liner.
This does wear well under heat, as while it might not be waterproof, it doesn’t breakdown unless you legit rub it.
I’ve had a great experience with this, and trying to see how to make it work with how I do my makeup. One of the most fun items I have tried so far this year.
