For our Post today, it will be a review on the Joe Fresh Essential Lip Oil in Pomegranate.
Over a month ago I did a post on 5 lip items I wanted to try out, called Top 5 Lip Products I’d like to try. Sitting at Number 1 was Lip oils. When I was out and about on the weekend, I was looking for the Physicians Formula duo pack, but alas, they were out of stock. They did have some of the new summer collection of Joe Fresh ones, and they were on sale too, so I picked one of them to try out. I know it is rather soon to be doing a review on these, but I have been wearing this almost 4 days straight now, and feel like I can form a solid opinion on the product.

This is a super hydrating lip product. My lips fell super plush, and I haven’t had any flaking occur. It lasts a good while before you have to reapply. The applicator is a rather HUGE Doe Foot, which sort of threw me off guard a bit, but it helps with keeping the oil from glooping all over. It also allows for a one dip application.
It is very lightly scented, which is pleasant. I haven’t had any allergy based reactions to it, and by now I would have, they happen normally within a 1/2 hour of putting something on.
The product itself is super glossy, and I have tested it on top of other products, just lip liner, tube lipstick and dry down, long-lasting liquid lipsticks. It is really beautiful on top of other products. Due to it being an oil, it can make liquid lipsticks peel up, even if they are a 12+ hour formula.
There was only one downside, and that is if you are like me, and are silly, and wear it constantly for 4 days in a row, you will possibly get little breakouts near your lip line. This is simply because it is an oil based product, so can get stuck and fill your pores. If you don’t clean your lips properly at the end of the day, then each day you wear it, it will just accumulate more. I personally just didn’t cleanse enough in that area, nor did I use the right type of cleansing product, and my pores are rather tight on my cupids bow, some once things get gunked up in there, it isn’t really all that happy. Luckily small pores make for small breakouts, and it wasn’t noticeable. You would have to really be in my face, like eyeball to lip, to even see it. My face is rather dry skinned, so I also didn’t have the right type of cleanser. I have since bought a cleanser for oily skin, just to use around my lips, for when I use this product. That has worked out well the past 2 days, and there are no more issues.
Yes, I already have, today actually. I loved this so much, that I purchased one for my Bestie. I don’t think she has tried any lip oils yet either, so I got her the coconut one. For myself, I can see me buying it again. Currently it comes in Rose, Coconut and Pomegranate. I think I will get myself the Coconut when I run out of this one. I personally really like how my lips feel after this has been on. They feel baby smooth, and for someone who is aging, that is a feat. I am starting to get deeper lines in my lips, so having a product that doesn’t have a plumping agent in it, but still creates a smooth look and feel, is rather great. My lips just look super kissable with it on too, which I love. Getting goo all over the man is a little fun too, haha.
