As per my No Buy, this is a prepurchased Haul from April. My Mother-in-law gave me $50 to spend however I wanted, but it she stipulated that it had to be on things that weren’t necessary. Only frivolous things.
I had recently discovered while watching videos on Youtube, that some Winners stores carried high-end makeup, and brands you wouldn’t normally see around canada. Since I had the $50, and I was supposed to spend it on random stuff, I thought I’d check out the Winners makeup department.
I have issues with my under-eyes, so I found these eyepads, which can be placed in the fridge to get cool. They were only $4.99CAD(reg. $11CAD).
I also found this foot scrubby, which has 4 different areas, a brush, pumice stone, fine and rasp. I’ve purchased The Body Shop foot files for years, but I thought I’d give this thing a try. it was only $3.99CAD(reg. $8.00).
I picked up this Nature’s Gate Toothpaste because it sounded very interesting. It is Fluoride Free, in a cool mint gel formula/taste. The thing that really got me was that it has Aloe, Ginger, Cranberry, Pomegranate, White Tea and Grapeseed in it. Also Vegan, Gluten Free, Soy Free, Paraben Free, Cruelty Free, and Sulfate Free. Thought it was worth a try for the $3.00CAD Priced tag(reg. $12.00).
There was a lot of nail product there when I went, and I saw this Colour Club polish with cute little ghost sparkles and had to get it. They sort of look like the Snap Chat ghost, but I think it is still cute. The Name of it is Booo! haha. Got it for $3.99CAD(reg. $7.00).
On to the makeup! You really have to look and dig, because people seem to like to open everything they can up, and swatch things. I saw some great items, like lipsticks and palettes, all ruined, like people were legit taking just their whole darn fingernail in when they swatched. I really wanted some of the Cargo and BH Cosmetics palettes, but they were all ruined, and there was like over 20 of them, So sad.
I was happy to see this NYX Wanderlust Palette in Los Angeles, with no swatches done on it. It was still fully sealed. It came with one Soft Matte Lip Cream and 8 Eyeshadows. I liked the general colour scheme, and thought it would be a great traveling palette for my upcoming vacation. It was not really that much of a deal, but I had never seen them before, so I snagged it. It was $6.99CAD(reg. $9.00).
Another thing I have been wanting to try is the Lipstick Queen products. I don’t know if there is anywhere in canada they are sold, so these are the first I have seen. They had a bunch of stuff, but this was the item I picked. Chinatown Glossy Pencil in Catalina was the one I settled on. I again had to dig to find one not already cracked open and swatched. This was only $5.00CAD(reg. $20.00)
While I was excited to find the Lipstick Queen Products, I was super happy to find these Sigma items. I got the Sigma Lip Base Pencil in Magnetism for $2.00CAD(reg. $9.00) and the Sigma Lip Vex in Skinny Dip for $3.00CAD(reg. $12.00). They sort of match, and create a unique look when used together.
Finally, I say some elf products while at Winners, and though I can find elf products elsewheres, here they had items that I had never seen before. I liked the look of these smudge pots, and found this lovely Crusin’ Chic colour for $2.99CAD(reg. $4.00). Not a huge discount, but worth it for something different to try out.
I was really happy with my finds here, and I really felt like the trip was worth it. If you live in canada, and have never been to winners, or thought to look in the cosmetics section, maybe it is time for a look!
Now, some of the items you find at Winners are things that are being rebranded, reformulated, repackaged, or they were limited edition or holiday items. I used a few different things to check the batch dates on items I wasn’t sure on, but mainly these 2 apps.
Beauty Keeper is a bit more tedious, but I find a lot of things that aren’t on Cosmetic Calculator are on there. For things like the Lipstick Queen products, I legit just had to scroll through google and find out info, once the batch numbers were put in. I was lucky with what I got that it was in a certain year range, so it was all good to use. I suggest even if you have a phone with no data, check the items as soon as you get home, then if anything is super old, you can always take it back.
