Raptors Love Makeup – Something in the Samples

Brokedown Vanity - Raptors Love Makeup - Something in the Samples

So mischievous, but so cute!

It is very rare for me to intentionally miss posts. I didn’t post friday nor did I post sunday. The reason for this being that I am still healing my face from a very nasty Eczema flare, that happened Friday May 11th. I still don’t know why it happened, but I did end up aggravating it a bit, and made it much worse, by accident. After having the best skin I have had in years, the last few months, it really got me down. It had to happen Mother’s Day weekend too, when there were many things planned.

It also put me in a bit of a slump with the blog, as I didn’t want to do anything to make it worse. I stupidly tried out some lotion that I got as a present, and that was what made it go from a normal flare to a full-blown apocalyptic flare. Not the fault of the product, my eczema was just waiting to go to mode 2 apparently. I know I can use the product fine, as I spot tested on the place where I have the worst flares, which happens to be my inner elbows.

So I had all these samples, just waiting for their time to shine on a sunday post, and I was just really afraid to use anything. Normally my Eczema is just on my cheeks, and sort of climbs to my hairline/temple area on my right side. This flare went all the way down to my lip corners and climbed down my neck too, so I couldn’t even do lipart or lip shots for the friday post.

This would be the time when most would say to use foundation. The reason why I don’t normally use foundation at all, is because many of the things in foundation actually make my eczema worse or I am just allergic too in general. I did a test as a teen, when my facial eczema was at the worst, and actually found it flared less once I cut out trying to hide it with product.

I’d much rather live my life bare-faced, than deal with constant eczema and itchiness. I can use most tinted moisturizer fine, can wear a full face for very short periods of time, or a few times a month, and be fine. So I am good for things like halloween, it is just when I wear it a lot, my eczema gets angry.

This post really didn’t go the way I was shooting for, I explained a lot more, and this was just supposed to be a funny little post.

Anyways, while I wait for my face to settle down, the Raptors are having a blast playing with my samples bin. I have a lot of little things to try out, and there are a few gifts I was given thrown in there too.

Here’s to hoping for a better week!

‘Til Tomorrow
