For our Post today, it will be a review on NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil Stick.
I was watching a youtube video by Kimberly/ColourCreep,which I can’t seem to actually find now. It was one of the ones where she was doing a full face of NYX makeup, so instead of the white base she normally uses, she used a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to make her full face white, and then used a white setting powder to set and smooth out her face.
I have been having a hard time finding budget white base for face art, something I can walk into a store and buy, and not have to order online. As you can tell by now, if you have been following the blog here from the start, I don’t order much online. I like to physically see the products I am purchasing. Only Brands I know to be good, by recommendation of friends/family and other contacts, would I ever consider purchasing online. I am considering getting a low level prepaid visa for future iffy products/sites, but that is a story for another day.
So I picked myself up this NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil to test out.

I bought this for a use that was outside of the products normal use. I was not unhappy when my experiment didn’t work. I am not sure how Kimberly/ColourCreep got hers to go on so flawlessly, and I have now since lost the video it was in. That being said, it still did somewhat work, just not to the same degree she got it.
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk used as a White Face Base
I wanted an utterly white base for my face, for fantasy purposes, and all I got was a lighter skin tone. Now, I can still work with this, so I am not unhappy. Definitely a nice addition for your makeup kit for costumes/cosplay.
I have found other uses for this item too. It makes for a great base on my eyelids, to make bright colours really pop. It also is good as a lip base, if applied over lip balm with a lip brush. It sort of acts the same way, and will make a bright lipstick, or odd coloured lipstick, really pop, with less use of actual product. If you apply it directly from the stick, it will gunk up on you though. I have also had sucess as a base for inner corner highlights, tightlining my water line, browbone lightening, and even undereye brightening.
This product is really thick, so I normally apply it with the stick, then smooth it out with fingers or a brush of some sort(depending on what I am using it for).
These initially look like a twist product, but it is really a wooden pencil encased in a plastic tip. You will need a large pencil sharpener opening on your sharpener. I got a $0.75CAD large crayon sharpener from Walmart, and it does the trick. Even catches all the shavings in a tray =)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk used as Seafoam for Lipart
Yes. I plan to try some of the other colours, and see if I can work them in as a face base. I don’t know, I sort of just want to play with a bunch of these on my face like crayons, haha. The NYX Offical Canadian Site has these all for only $6, not sure if that is normal price, it doesn’t seem like they are on sale. There is a good number of colours I’d like to try out, so it’ll be on the top of my list, after my no buy ends June 16th. This is something I am willing to order online, as the site is canadian, so I wont get dinged with duty. I want to try the FX Creme Colours too, now that I know they are a thing. Buying the white for sure!
