This month I didn’t try out as many products. I didn’t really seriously shop until later in the month, and a lot of that stuff hasn’t even been out on the blog yet, so I wont be talking about any of that today(It really hasn’t been tested all that long).
I wanted to make sure I only talked about the things I gave a good go at, and these are it!
Garnier – Whole Blends – Oat Delicacy Gentle Shampoo & Conditioner
I wrote about these in my one post Free Mail Sample – Review – Garnier – Whole Blends Gentle Shampoo & Conditioner. <—- You can read the full review there. They were so enjoyable, I did end up picking up the full versions. They were exactly what I needed for me and the kids after swims in the chlorine filled water of our local pool. I would recommend these to anyone who is upgrading from baby /tearless shampoos, to something a bit more powerful, but still gentle, for their kids. I hope this stays as part of the Garnier lineup, and they don’t get rid of it because they made it as a “Trendy” sort of thing.
St. Ives – Even & Bright Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange Facial Scrub
I really like the idea of St. Ives products, but they tend to put Apricot extracts in practically everything. I had given up on the Brand a long time ago, but while looking for Facial Scrubs, I landed on this one. It actually didn’t have any apricot in it, or any of the other things they tend to have in their products that trigger me. I picked this one up, as I do have a slight issue with certain areas of my face being a slightly different colour than others. I’ve used it a good number of times now, and like the results. The only downside is that there are very fine, sandlike particles as part of the exfoliating process, and I find I have to double rinse my face, to try to get them all off, as well as a final cloth wipe down. I’ve never had a facial scrub not want to come off so badly before.
L’Oreal – Pure Sugar Scrub w/Grapeseed Oil for Face and Lips
This is a newer item. It is part of a series of items I got for a review site, which I have been re-reimbursed for. I wanted to try these when they first came out, and was so glad to have the opportunity to get it for review. I will be talking about the process of all that at a later date, but for now, I will just talk about the item itself.
This goes on rather thickly. I wasn’t expecting it the first time. I have since bought myself a little flexible spatula for it, which I dip in scalding hot water for like 30 seconds, then gather the scrub onto it, and apply to my face. This seems to work best, as I made an epic mess the first time, when using just my fingers. It leaved my face and lips feeling great, my lips especially. They end up really smooth, and I have a lot of lines in mine, at my age. I can’t really attest to the brightening aspect, I had already used the St. Ives for a few weeks before getting this one, and my skin had already started to even out. This one does seem a lot gentler, and again, it left me really smooth.
I would repurchase this, and plan to try the kiwi one out next.
Avon Solutions – Maximum Moisture Super Hydrating Gel
This stuff is great. It has Vitamin A, C and E in it. It is non comedogenic(doesn’t clog pores) and is hypoallergenic. It also feels like really nifty on your face, it goes on sort of cool, and the feeling of the product when you pick it up is really interesting. I use it a few times a week, before I got to bed as my night routine. My face in the morning is so darn soft. It smells really good too, but isn’t overpowering.
Cake Beauty Inc – Delectable Radiance Boosting Hair & Body Mist in Candy Sparkle
I found a Delectable Mist set at Shoppers Drug Mart, with 3 bottles included. So far I have really been enjoying Candy Sparkle the most. It smells like confectioners sugar mixed with cotton candy. It isn’t overpowering, but it does last a good while. I really like putting it on after I go swimming. I keep reaching for this, for when I don’t want perfume and oils. I like it for just around the house too.
Made in Canada, Cruelty Free and Vegan, sign me up! I have now started to watch this brand, and have purchase some of their other items to try out.
Avon Anew – Retinol Recovery Complex
I use this under my eyes and on my forehead. I wanted to use this up, as I have some new things to try out, but I had this given to me as a gift, and I didn’t want to be wasteful. I have noticed it doing a wee bit of work on smoothing out the lines in my rather large under eye bags, as well as my expression lines on my forehead. It isn’t like super mind-blowing the difference, but I can see it. If I used it every night, maybe I could see more of a difference, but I still am not in a habit of all my extra steps to my night routine. I am getting there slowly. I do like what is has been doing, and if anything, it is a good trainer for me, before I start using my similar products by other brands.
I would be willing to purchase this.
Wet n Wild – MegaLast Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick
I talked about this in my post Discoveries – It seems I do have a GoTo Shade of Lipstick, with the first one being a shade that I guess I gravitate towards. I have since bought a few more colours, and as I do not enjoy matte lipsticks, but like my lipsticks to be kissproof and last all day, I do wear this with either a gloss or a topcoat by Covergirl. Adding a gloss can sometimes wear it out a bit more, but when paired with the nourishing topcoat that Covergirl sells, there isn’t an issue. I adore the wear time on these, and they don’t feel tight or heavy on the lips either.
Joe Fresh – Nail Polish in Rose Gold
I got this for $2CAD at the Real Canadian Superstore one day while Grocery Shopping. It’s in one of my hauls somewhere. I picked it up, because the whole Youtube/Blogger world seems super obsessed with Rose Gold anything. I was like, well I can have my own piece for two bucks. I have used it multiple times, is has great lasting power. I usually use it as an accent nail, or art on top of another colour. My daughter really likes this shade too, she says it makes her feel glamorous. It is a one coat cover, and applies super nicely with a sponge.
That is it for this month. I have tried other things out as well, I just am not 100% on my opinions on those items yet, so I didn’t think I’d put them in this lineup. Sometimes you just got to give an item more than a week or two to decide if it is for you or not.
I hope you found this useful, in some sort of fashion.

All items featured were purchased with my own money, gained by some other means, like awesome gifts from peoples, trades, or perhaps even a promotion of some sort. There were coupons used to purchase a set of products on this post, given to me by the Brand. There was another item that was fully rebated by the Brand, through a Review program. In both cases they were products I already wanted, and my opinions are my own.***
