I had been planning on getting myself something for my birthday, from Sephora, for a good month. I learned early in the month about the Spring Sale, which made me even more happy, because I could save a little, and pick up my yearly gift.
I placed my order on Friday, the 20th, and got my 10% off, and since my order was over $50CAD, I got free shipping. I used a giftcard, and it fully covered my purchase. I did not have to use any other payments on file for taxes or anything. I did receive insider points from my order still, even with using a giftcard.
I was mildly fascinated with watching where my package was and when. It was cool to see it move across the country.
I had snapped the above picture only a few hours before it actually arrived. It came around 1pm on Monday April 23rd, a whole 2 days before scheduled.
It came in a rather normal box. The box itself was in good condition. It was too large for my mail box, so I was hand delivered this one.
This is what it looked like inside when I opened it. The box didn’t seem overly large for the amount of items inside. There was a layer of packing paper, wadded up, so things didn’t shack around, as well as bubble wrap. Items were put in, in such a way that they wouldn’t rub nor bump each other.
All in all, I have to say I was impressed with my first online order with Sephora. I really like that you can use giftcards on the site.
In the end, this is what I got in my box.
Sephora Favorites – Give me some Lip Pack – $34CAD
Urban Decay x Kristen Leanne – Kakiedoscope Dreams Palette – L$25CAD (1/2 off reg price $50CAD)
Bite Beauty – Brithday Gift Bite Lip Set – FREE for my Bday
Grande Cosmetics – GradeLips HydraPlump Liquid Lipsticks Sample – Free w/$25CAD purchase
Consonant – Hydextreme Extreme Hydration Booster Serum – Free w/$25CAD purchase
Urban Decay – Eyeshadow Primer Potion Duo – Free w/$25CAD purchase
I was hopping for some better sample selection, but due to it being a sale, the samples were changing very quickly every hour, so I finally just committed to these. We will see how that goes.
My Sephora Favorites came in a super cute little lip box, with random fluff inside so they didn’t bounce around. I love the idea of these minis, it is the perfect way to try out things, for a decent price. I really wish we got the skin care version in canada, that looked like a decent kit.
Inside this box was:
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Full Sized – Matte Lipstick in Ruby – 3.5g/0.12oz – Reg. $23CAD
Bite Beauty – Mini Sized – Prismatic Multistick in Pink Pearl – 2.1g/0.07oz – Reg. $28CAD (full size)
Grande Cosmetics – HydraPlump Semi Matte Liquid Lipstick in Smoked Sherry – 2.6g/0.09oz – Reg. $34CAD (full size)
Kat Von D Beauty – Studded Kiss Creme in Lovecraft – 1.2g/0.04oz – Reg. $23CAD (full size)
tarte – Rainforest of the Sea H2O Lip Gloss in Bora Bora – 1ml/0.033fl oz – Reg. $23CAD (full size)
Urban Decay – Hi-Fi Lipgloss in SPL – 1ml/0.03fl oz – Reg. $23CAD (full size)
The box is valued at being about $80CAD worth of product, and if you went out to buy all the full sized versions it would have been $154CAD, so I definitely think this little package is a good deal. Perfect gift idea too.
I wanted to try out the Bite Beauty Birthday gift, as it came highly recommended to me.
Inside this box was:
Bite Beauty – Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai – 1.55g/0.05oz –
Bite Beauty – Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace – 0.89g/0.031oz
Bite Beauty – Agave Lip Balm – 0.50g/0.018oz
Bite Beauty – Agave Sugar Lip Scrub – 0.50g/0.18oz
Such a generous gift, can’t wait to try these out.
I really wanted to get a palette for my birthday, and I saw that this one was on sale. Now, as I was checking to see if this one was any good, I learned that while recently some of the palettes released by Urban Decay recently we not that great, this one actually was. It was also on sale, so that didn’t hurt either.
All the colours preformed well when I swatched them. There are a few weird shadows in this set. Brixton, it really kicked up, wasn’t as creamy as the others, more powdery. Stay Gold and Corona are a bit more dry, so they perform chunky, but they also are the two with the larger glitter.
These are the swatches with flash(left) and in natural lighting(right). The eyeshadows go on with the same intensity as in pot, once on the skin. I am very happy with this palette so far, can’t wait to try it out.
All in all, from ordering, to delivery, the box and the items, I am very happy with this purchase and I had a really go experience. It felt a lot easier that going on location, only to find what i went to grab, isn’t at the store.
Did you all get stuff at the sale too? What was your favorite item so far? Let me know in the comments!
‘Til Tomorrow

I should see if sephora has any such on their India site.

I find it really interesting all the different things on the different country sites. I have looked at the usa and the uk one, just to see, in the past.
Thanks for the belated wishes, it is appreciated. I only have 2 people that get me gifts every year, and I am really grateful for even just that, as some people aren’t so lucky. Still, I spoiled myself a bit, haha, and got a few things I have been eyeing.

Sephora is partnering with NNOW or something, I am not sure. The problem hence is there would be only limited products and offers.
Gifting yourself is a wonderful gesture. I had read about it but havent done yet😊

Ah I see, thanks for teaching me a little something. I wonder if they weren’t allowed to have full locations yet in your country, so maybe that is the work around for now.
It could also be a test for the market. I remember the first time Sephora came to canada, they had just a mini location inside one of our bigger luxury stores. It didn’t take too long before they built a full location though.

Hope that they come soon then like The Body Shop😊

Can’t get any of this stuff over here 😦 My country doesn’t have sephora

There are many american brands I still can’t get, but I am fortunate enough to be able to purchase from sephora.
With Trump as president, and the free trade agreement all buggered up, it makes no sense for canadians to order any items in from the states, our tax and duty often doubles the price. Get a $50CAD order and after shipping, tax, duty, you pay $100CAD.
I can only imagine what it is like for other countries.
I know Sephora is working on what countries it will be shipping to internationally. They just added South Korea to their list, so hopefully they add your country sometime soon.

France has a sephora site, but shipping is still 15+ euro’s (different trading zone inside the eu) so I hope they’ll open here soon😣 I can’t get most brands youtubers talk about, it’s annoying isn’t it?

It is. There is one company I want to try, which is ColorPop, and we don’t have that here in canada. Also, we do have like the generic Wet n Wild, but we get none of the limited edition sets, so those would have to be ordered from the american site, which again it just doesn’t make sense to pay double, at least not to me.
I’ve always just wanted to make an american friend, so I can ship stuff there and visit, then grab the loot and bring it back, haha.

[…] Last month I had purchased the “Sephora Favorites: Give me some Lip” Lip Kit during the Spring Sale. I also received my Sephora birthday gift from Bite Beauty in the same package. I had them both in my Package Unboxing – Sephora Spring Sale 2018 post. […]
