Left to Right: e.l.f., Milani, Quo, Maybelline Bottom: Joe Fresh
I enjoyed my other Lips of the Week #1 post so much, I decided to do it again. I was also spurred on a bit by the fact I have been organizing my makeup collection more, and am figuring out the items I want to use up.
I also have new items I purchased, which need testing and love, so I needed to throw a bit of that in there too.
Products I Chose:
Monday – Joe Fresh – Lip Gloss in Nude Glaze
This lipgloss has a lot of really fine glitter, as well as a slightly bigger sized glitter, in its formula. If you accidentally smudge it, it can get a bit tricky to clean up the fine glitter from your face. I accidentally did this myself. It didn’t dissuade me from using the product, I just became more aware, to try to prevent that. It isn’t super tacky on the lips, and wears nicely on its own. It has a very light scent, that is almost like coffee, maybe latte.
I actually got asked by a few people while in Winners, what I was wearing, and they were all surprised that it was a Grocery Chain Product. I am pleasantly surprised with how much I like it myself, and might try to get a few more colours.
These are a location only purchase, they don’t have them on the site. So you can find these at the Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Tuesday – e.l.f. – Essential Lipstick in Posh
I’ve worn this a few times now, and really like this shade specifically. It goes on easily, has great colour, and has a very light scent. It mixes well with lip toppers. The lasting power is great too, I think I went 4 hours with no issues, until I smeared it. Seems to be a theme this week. Really not use to wearing makeup so frequently, got to get back into the “No Hands on the Face!”.
I personally purchased mine at Dollar Tree, and have seen it at 3 separate locations. If you must order it, you can get it online at the official website. Just keep in mind, they don’t have a canadian site, so you will pay duty. It is currently only $0.40USD on the site, so it must be the left over price from the spring sale(as others in the line are still a loonie).
Wednesday – Quo – Velvet Kiss Lipstick in 03
This is a lipstick from the inhouse brand of Shoppers Drug Mart. I had a giftset given to me with some lipglosses years ago, and decided I’d like to try a few of the lipsticks. I picked up 3 different colours, but seem to wear this one the most currently. It feels really great on the lips, very moisturizing, and has a nice satin finish. I’m not a fan of the scent, it is flowery and fruity, but it isn’t overpowering, and you can’t really smell it once on. The lipstick has really nice lasting power.
I love the package the most, and so does my daughter, hence why the tip is all busted. She wouldn’t stop playing with it, and squished it. It is a click to dispense type package.
You can find these on location at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Thursday – Milani – Color Statement Matte Lipstick in Kiss 72
I thought I’d wear a red with the new hair colour, and this seemed to match well. I wore it both on its own, and with a lipgloss on top. The formula is amazing, it feels so comfortable and smells faintly of candy. The Pigmentation is great, and I had it last a good 5 hours without having to touch up. It can be a bit hard to get off pale skin, once it is time to clean up.
I picked mine up from the Real Canadian Superstore, but you can find it on the main website too.
Friday – Maybelline – Wet Shine Lipstick in Pink Pout
This is a lipstick I have talked about in a past post, can’t remember which right now. I have at least 3-5 tubes of this, it was a favorite at a certain time of my life. My sister had won a few at some beach music festival, and gave me some, and I think I went and got more, for some reason. I have worn this shade a lot over the last 10 years, and the formula is still good. There is no wax bleeding and doesn’t smell expired. It actually smells like berry bubblegum. It does glide on rather wetly, is super shiny but also sheer. Compliments my natural lip colour.
I wanted to try to project pan a few of these, since I do have so many floating about, so I will be wearing it consistently over the next few months.
It’s not a product that is still made, and I could find no comparable shade or formula in the current lineup for Maybelline.
Left to Right: e.l.f., Milani, Quo, Maybelline, Joe Fresh
I really enjoyed the lip products I used this week, and got more than a few compliments while out and about, as well as inquiries. It’s always nice to share info, either online, or in the physical world.
